Glass Layers

Windshields are made up of two layers of glass and a plastic layer in between. This design makes them stronger and safer.

PolyVinyl Butyral

The plastic layer between the glass is Polyvinyl Butyral or PVB. PVB prevents the glass from shattering upon impact.

Other Materials

Windshields also contain small traces of moisture, oil, and vinyl.
